For its SC 6000 electric counterbalance forklift range, Crown has won the Excellence in Ergonomics prize in the prominent Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) awards, known as the Archies. The forklift series features an ergonomically enhanced cabin, designed for greater visibility combined with maximum operator comfort and performance.
“Each of our finalists represents a significant advance in forklift development,” said Peter Harvey, FLTA chief executive. “Through their efforts, they contribute to making operations safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly for generations to come. We are delighted to recognise and reward their fine efforts.”
Crown’s new SC 6000 Series three- and four-wheel electric forklifts, available with lift capacities ranging from 1.3 to 2.0 tonnes and lift heights up to 7.5 metres, offer stability, advanced technology and task-focused ergonomics on ruggedly-built trucks capable of performing a wide variety of indoor and outdoor tasks.
Excellence in ergonomics is typified by the low step height of 375 mm and generous head clearance, which make it much easier for the operator to get on or off the truck – a repetitive activity during a typical shift period – while the clear-view cabin provides unobstructed sight lines in all directions, ensuring maximum operator acceptance, comfort and productivity during operation.
In addition to its task-focused ergonomics, the Crown SC 6000 forklift gives a distinctive edge on manoeuvrability and control. The four-wheel truck’s turning circle is nearly zero, making it almost as agile as the three-wheel version and the long-life steer-axle is proven to last thousands of hours.
Intelligent on-board control systems deliver precise control, stability and comfort while maintaining constant speed on ramps and automatically adjusting control function response to differing load weights, lift heights, steering angles and travel speeds.
Crown’s patented Access 1 2 3® technology provides dependable on-board diagnostics in real time while the BTS 1000 battery transfer system enables one person to change a battery in just three minutes.
