New Crown head office in Madrid
Leading global fork lift truck and warehouse equipment manufacturer, Crown Lift Trucks, announces the opening of their new head office in Madrid as well as further development of their sales and service operation across Spain, all supported by a line-up of new models.
After a highly successful opening of its initial retail facility in Valencia, Crown Lift Trucks have followed up by opening its new Spanish Head Quarter facility in Madrid. In addition to serving the local market, the Madrid facility will serve as a technical and sales support centre for its rapidly expanding network across Spain. Now, fully factory trained technicians will be available in a growing number of locations including Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Zaragoza, Murcia and San Sebastian with further expansion planned. Alfonso Valderrama, General Manager of Crown in Spain, states “We know from our positive experience in Valencia that the market is very receptive to Crown’s investment in the Spanish market. The combination of Crown’s robust product and global strength coupled with local market knowledge gives us the ability to support our customers, even in these economically challenging times.”
Robustness and reliability – built by Crown
Crown has a philosophy of vertically integrated manufacturing which means that up to 85% of the components in its lift trucks are made by Crown. One customer benefit of this philosophy is Crown maintaining the use of steel panels and covers to protect vital components when many other manufacturers have changed to plastic handles and covers. This can be a common source of unwanted downtime and extra cost. Not only does Crown’s philosophy ensure full control of quality, it also has led to a commonality of parts across the Crown product range. This in turn reduces the number of part line items needed for spare parts stockholding thereby ensuring a higher off-the-shelf availability of these parts as needed for service purposes. This leads to fast and efficient service response if breakdowns do occur and results in customers enjoying the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) as well as the highest productivity from their investment.
New line-up of electric counterbalance forklift trucks
The expansion of Crown’s network is accompanied with the introduction of a new range of 3 wheel electric counterbalance forklifts, available in capacities from 1.3 to 2.0 ton.
This new model in Crown’s counterbalance truck line-up is the SC 5300, an industry workhorse featuring a combination of innovative design, robust construction, operator comfort, safety, versatility and exceptional manoeuvrability, all combining to bring performance and cost benefits across all industry sectors.
With compact dimensions for the tightest applications, the SC 5300 fork lift truck is endowed with the handling power and stability of larger machines and will be appreciated by warehouse managers for its ability to perform a multiplicity of indoor/outdoor applications – including dock work, container stuffing, loading/unloading, storage/retrieval, stacking and line feeding – in all industries.
Lift heights to 17.2 metres with the latest Crown VNA truck range
Key to the successful operation of today’s high-rise warehouses is the VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) truck. All other processes in the warehousing operation depend on its seamless operation and reliability. Precise and efficient storage and retrieval of palletised loads and the associated operations of high-level order picking, travelling long distances and transferring goods between aisles are the tasks for which Crown’s new TSP VNA trucks have been specifically developed.
Three high-performance series in the TSP range offer the speeds, capacities, energy efficiency and lift heights to enable users to specify machines precisely suited to the application criteria:
• TSP 6000 VNA Truck – for medium-duty applications up to a height of 11.7 metres
• TSP 6500 VNA Truck – for high-throughput applications up to 13.5 metres
• TSP 7000 VNA Truck – for maximum performance at heights to 17.2 metres
All three feature Crown’s ground-breaking MonoLift™ mast and MoveControl™ seat, plus application-matched travel and lift performance, 48 or 80 Volt power, regenerative mast-lowering, industry-leading visibility and ergonomically-designed controls that simplify operation and minimise stress-induced operator fatigue.
Ken Dufford, Crown’s Vice President Europe said: “Spain is an important market for us and this is an exciting time for Crown in Europe. We are delighted with our expansion in the country with so many new models and a distribution network which will open up many new opportunities to enhance existing and develop new customer relationships”.
