Two birds, one stone: the new double stacker trucks in Crown’s DT 3000 Series combine all the advantages of a pallet truck with those of a pedestrian stacker. The result is a range of compact, versatile double stackers that are robust and user-friendly making a big difference to the flow of goods across the loading dock. Crown’s Access 1 2 3® control system ensures that the truck can be driven safely at high speeds by monitoring conditions that can impact control and adjusting the truck’s operating parameters. This makes the new double stacker 25% more efficient per working hour.
The precise coordination and smooth transfer of goods into and out of stores and warehouses is business-critical in many industries, from logistics services to just-in-time manufacturing. But tight timeframes for loading and unloading goods vehicles place exceptionally high demands on lift trucks and their operators. Which is why, Crown engineers not only emphasized strength and driver ergonomics in the design of the new DT 3000 double stacker series, but added a range of other functions enabling the trucks to move loads faster and more efficiently.
Putting the focus on productivity and safety
Crown’s new DT 3000 Double Stacker Pallet Truck Series is capable of loading and unloading goods vehicles at loading docks faster than ever, and then transporting the goods swiftly and efficiently around the warehouse. One reason is the truck’s built-in ability to carry two pallets at once (in double-stacking mode) – but what really enhances the vehicle’s speed and safety is the combination of Crown’s industry-leading Access 1 2 3® control system and the truck’s Active Traction suspension. The control system monitors conditions that affect the stacker’s handling and stability. Depending on the distribution of the load, position of the forks, angle of the steering and more, the system automatically adjusts the speed and drive-tyre ground pressure so that operators can always travel at the highest possible speeds consistent with safety: the double stacker has a top speed of 12.5 km/h.
With a chassis just 744 mm wide – that is, narrower than a Euro pallet – the DT 3000 Series is ideally suited for working in a narrow semi-trailer. The stacker is designed with a low profile, so the operator has an unobstructed view of the front forks and can manoeuvre safely in work zones where space is limited. Because it can be used as a pallet truck, pedestrian stacker or double stacker, the DT 3000 truck is outstandingly versatile – the stacker can raise loads to heights of up to 2.6 metres, has a single-load lifting capacity of 2000 kg and, in dual-stacking mode, is capable of carrying two loads weighing 1000 kg each. Key parts of the truck – especially those exposed to high levels of wear and tear during shift work in warehouses or loading bays – are designed to withstand the toughest working conditions. The cast-steel reinforced chassis and steel covers up to 10mm thick have the strength to take the abuse of dock work. The spring loaded drive unit with heavy-duty castors can take this constant pounding in its stride. All this gives the vehicle a long, productive service life even when used in extreme conditions.
Optimising driver comfort: turning rough rides into smooth
Every Crown lift truck is equipped with a host of thoughtfully designed technical and ergonomic enhancements, all with a single aim in mind: to make each operator’s working day less tiring and more productive. In addition to the ergonomically designed X10® control handle and the electronic steering, DT 3000 Series stackers are fitted with Crown’s patented FlexRide™ system. This specially designed suspension system absorbs impacts and vibration, helping drivers stay comfortable. Better still, they no longer have to brake before driving onto loading docks – thanks to FlexRide, the operator drives smoothly over door sills and across ramps. Additional protection is provided by steel-reinforced side restraints with a quick exit system helping operators to work more safely and more productively.
Exhaustive tests in Crown’s engineering centre have shown that DT 3000 Series double stackers are up to
25 percent more efficient than other models currently available in the market. The DT 3000 Series double stackers are available with or without a folding platform – increasing your efficiency whether riding or walking.
