Crown Turret Order Picker wins prestigious iF product design award

The Crown TSP 6000 turret order picker, perhaps the most advanced VNA truck in the world, has received the coveted iF product design award for 2007. The award recognizes the TSP 6000’s early reputation as being at the cutting edge of contemporary design.

The iF product design awards, held this year for the 53rd time, represent one of the oldest and most prestigious design competitions in the world. It is one of the world’s three leading design awards and is presented every year at the Hanover Exhibition Centre. This year the number of entrants surpassed all previous years. Some 2,000 products from 37 nations were judged by an international jury of renowned experts, with the best of them receiving an iF seal of outstanding design quality.

This is the third time the TSP 6000 turret truck has received an award for its innovative industrial design. At the Industrial Design Excellence Awards 2006, held in the USA by the “Industrial Designers Society of America” and “Business Week” magazine, it was awarded the Silver IDEA. Recently the TSP 6000 won the GOOD DESIGN™ award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

One characteristic of the Crown TSP 6000 turret order picker is its versatility. The compact three-point design offers a tight turning radius making it possible to combine picking, transporting and staging operations in one truck. The result is a VNA fork lift that sets a new benchmark for maximum cube utilisation and material handling productivity.

One unique aspect of the truck is its innovative seat design. The MoveControl™ seat can be vertically adjusted and rotated 110° to one of four positions. This provides outstanding visibility and unhindered access to goods thereby ensuring efficient order-picking as well as comfortable operator entry and exit. The multi-task controls positioned in the armrests allow blending of multiple load handling tasks simultaneously, which saves valuable positioning time and increases productivity.

Crown lift trucks have won the iF design award numerous times including last year`s award for the WT 3000 pedestrian stacker. Throughout the years, Crown has also numerously achieved the well-known ‘red dot’ award and a number of other major European and American design prizes.
