NEW BREMEN, Ohio (November 6, 2018) – Crown Equipment Corporation, one of the world’s largest material handling companies, announces the opening of the 20th global regional Demonstrated Performance service training center by one of its longtime dealers, Material Handling Supply. The collaboration with Material Handling Supply will provide the focused environment needed to conduct large-scale training and host Crown’s Demonstrated Performance® (DP) Training programs at the company’s facility located in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
“Our relationship with Crown continues to grow and this training endeavor is a great example,” said Andy Levin, president of Material Handling Supply. “Our training facility will offer the same experience that Crown offers at its facilities. It’s also a real tribute to the dedication and professionalism of our employees as well.”
Crown’s DP Training for service technicians goes above and beyond traditional classroom lectures by providing intensive, one-on-one instruction that is customizable to match the needs of each technician. Through hands-on learning, participants work directly on forklifts with instructor supervision, to learn firsthand the skills and knowledge necessary to keep a fleet up and running. To complete the program, students are required to demonstrate learned skills during an individual instructor evaluation.
“This venture was made possible by the high level of cooperation and commitment from the Material Handling Supply team,” said Justin Moore, general manager service training, Crown Equipment. “Their team is dedicated in bringing the benefits of Crown’s DP training program to customers in the region. It is also a demonstration of the commitment of both companies to encouraging customers and dealers to make service training a priority in their operations.”
Material Handling Supply trainers and technicians are fully trained and experienced with Crown’s DP service training program and philosophy. Material Handling Supply moved into the facility three years ago, doubling the size of the dealership, which includes separate office and warehouse space from the training center. The dealer, which has consistently earned Crown’s Summit Award recognition, also provides its customers with a complete selection of Crown forklifts, warehouse design services, Integrity Parts and Service System and the InfoLink fleet management system, which wirelessly connects forklift fleet managers to their operators.
