Northgate Markets finds InfoLink® to be essential tool for managing its forklift fleet

Northgate Markets, a regional chain of family-owned grocery stores in southern California, realized it was spending too much time and money managing its extensive forklift fleet. The company turned to Crown Equipment, one of the world’s largest material handling companies for a fleet management solution.

Northgate Markets chose Crown’s InfoLink Operator and Fleet Management System for its ability to connect lift trucks, operators and facilities to provide accurate, real-time information. The company has gained valuable utilization information for each of the 100+ forklifts in its distribution center while keeping up with increasing demand, thanks to the accurate, on-demand business metrics provided by InfoLink. The secure, scalable web-based solution continued to provide information even when their internal network went down.

Northgate Markets also depends on InfoLink for impact monitoring to help encourage its operators to focus on safety every day. Management uses each impact alarm to help change operator behavior, which has contributed greatly to their efforts to reduce injury rates and the associated cost.

“Last year, we had our best year ever for costs and our lowest injury rate in the eleven years I have been with the company and InfoLink is a great part of that,” said Keith McCarron, director of distribution.
