Chosen companies were commended for going “above and beyond to ensure their global supply chains are sustainable, and that their operations are socially and environmentally friendly.”
Crown was recognized for its global efforts to minimize waste, manage energy use and maximize product and facility lifespan. Highlights of these efforts include use of alternative fuel/energy sources, reuse/recycling program, reduced energy usage, use of sustainable packaging and source materials and energy-efficient lighting. This commitment has also led to the company receiving three State of Ohio Governors awards, four U.S. EPA awards and being the first two-time recipient of the Ohio EPA’s Encourage Environmental Excellence (E3) Gold Award which recognizes companies that demonstrate a high level of sustainability.
